Frightfully Fun Times to Come
Misty Oracle Grove Expands Its Location to WordPress Starting May 21
Hello, Ghouls, Goblins & Strangelings! It is your interdimensional friend from the Shadow Realm, Merrick. In case you missed my previous announcement, I’m launching a blog this month, Merrick Mysteria’s House of Horror, Oddities, and Other Madness at WordPress. For anyone interested in full-length articles on horror and cult movies, books, the paranormal, and true crime, the macabre madness begins on May 21. Join me at Misty Oracle Grove, where we embrace the shadows and leave banality at the door—-it will cost you nothing … except perhaps your sanity.
Expect one post three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. If I need to change this in the future, of course, I’ll let everyone know beforehand. Manifesting in and out of the flesh can be quite exhausting for an interdimensional being but for now, three times per week. Each day will feature one post and the categories will alternate.
Terrorific Tuesdays:
Start the week with the following:
Terrorific Tales: Retrospectives on classic horror novels
Iconography: A profile of an artist associated with horror or cult films
Cobweb Cafe: Book reviews on new horror releases or other genre-bending stories.
Surreal Thursdays:
I don’t know about you but I look for an escape after spending most of the week on the material plane. So, why not take Thursdays to explore the border between reality and unreality?
Surreality: Articles on paranormal events, well-known occultists, haunted items, etc.
More Frightening Than Fiction: Articles on true crime cases
Sinemastalgia Saturdays:
Saturdays are the perfect time to enjoy a film. At Misty Oracle Grove, Saturdays are dedicated to what I call sinemastalgia. Why sinemastalgia? Horror and cult films are known for pushing the boundaries into the forbidden zone. Each week I’d like to alternate between horror and cult films:
Hall of Fear: Retrospectives on classic horror films
Sinema Obscura: Retrospectives on classic cult films
Here is a schedule of posts for the first week:
Terrorific Tuesday, May 21: Terrorific Tales: Dracula by Bram Stoker (1897)
Surreal Thursday, May 23: Surreality: The Highgate Vampire
Sinemastalgia Saturday, May 25: Hall of Fear: Nosferatu (1922)
Join me at Misty Oracle Grove’s new location at Merrick Mysteria’s House of Horror, Oddities & Other Madness on WordPress each week to scratch beneath the surfaces of all things macabre and eccentric. Who knows, you may learn something new! I know I have in my research so far. Even an interdimensional being doesn’t know everything! Anyway, I can’t wait to share what I’ve learned. Of course, feedback is always welcome.
Of course, I will continue with weekly Friday installments of Horrorific Highlights and Eccentrica here on Substack. Thank you for reading and have a fabulous rest of your week.
